Hi everyone! Quite a bit has happened since my last post. We currently have three Pick Punch shapes in stock and two more coming mid December 2012.
Currently I have the Standard 351, the Jazz shape, and a small version of the 346 rounded triangle called the "baby 346". In December I will also have the large "Dorito Chip 355", and rounded 346 in regular size. These punches are quite a bit larger than the original Pick Punch. This was necessary due to the large size of the 355 and 346 picks.
Below is a picture of the different shapes. The names above the picks are the common names used in the industry.
We have also expanded into stamping supplies like stazon inks and other stamping products. Recently we added a line of guitar pick cases, ornaments, stands, etc to display or store your guitar pick collection.
New guitar pick sheeting has been added and we now carry acetal delrin in .50, .65, .80, and 1.00mm. Two thicknesses of clear polycarbonate are available and also Ultem has been added.
Below is a picture of some of the special inks we sell specially made for plastic stamping.
Below is some of the new 1.00mm blue acetal we now carry.
Below is a display case for a guitar pick. We now carry all kinds of displays, albums, cases, and ornaments for putting your guitar picks in after you make them.
We have also added two Pick Punch kits to the Pick Punch store that will make it much easier to proceed to Checkout. Below is the "Pick Punch Kit" which has one punch and a good sampling of everything we carry for making guitar picks.
Below is the "Pick Punch Kit Everything but the kitchen sink" which has three different punches and a much larger sampling of everything we carry for making guitar picks.

New Ultem materials will be here soon
Hello everyone. Even though ultem plastic is probably one of the most expensive plastics ever invented it is great for little guitar picks. The stuff is super strong, resists scratches like no other, and is not affected by extreme temperatures. Many companies make picks from this stuff because it doesn't wear.
We will have this material around April 1st of 2011 on our site. It will be a bit expensive but worth it.
Here is a picture of our new Ultem materials to be online soon. The left pick is a sanded sheet of .55mm ultem. The middle is one of our popular cartoon embedded picks right at 1.10mm thick and the right is an unfinished rough punched ultem pick before sanding.

Hi everyone we have our punches in stock now and can process your order usually in about a day now because we finally caught up! It took a week of 20 hour days here but finally we are there.
We ship USPS priority mail and it only takes 2-3 days to get anywhere in the USA. International orders are quick as well to get to other countries but your customs may slow down the order significantly in some cases. Please keep this in mind if you are shipping to some place outside of the USA.

Update
Hello everyone. Just updating you so you know when to expect your punch to be shipped. If your order said December 11th on it then the punch should be shipped that date. If it stated 13th then it should ship that date. If it stated the 16th then it should ship around that date. I hope this is clear. We are having to change the item title and description due to the time it will take us to catch up to your order. The sooner you order the sooner we can get it out etc.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone.

Pick Punch Update
Sorry everyone it took so long to post this update. We are still on schedule to start shipping around the 11th. It should only take a few days to catch up all the orders so we are still on schedule to have the punches to you by Christmas. Keep in mind international orders will be very close if you are ordering for Christmas depending on where you are located and how fast your customs processes orders. We have found Canada and Peru is currently running slow. If you have any questions email me at von@pickpunch.com

Pick Punch Voucher/Backorder Status
Hello everyone!
I will be updating our BACKORDER/VOUCHER status here. Currently at 12:30pm Eastern Standard Time November 18th 2010, we are expecting our punches to be completed around December 11th. It might be a couple days earlier but possibly a couple days later as well. I can't guarantee anything until I have them in my hands. We will begin shipping punches immediately after they arrive IN THE ORDER THEY WERE PURCHASED. All backorder/voucher purchases will be filled first in the order we have received them. If you are waiting I would reconsider possibly ordering now and getting higher on our shipping list. It will take a couple days to get everything caught up in our shipping department so if you wait your order ship time will be pushed back some as well.
I WILL UPDATE THIS BLOG EVERY COUPLE DAYS UNTIL THEY ARRIVE
Thanks everyone for your understanding.

Recent materials we have added to our website
The following pictures show materials that we sell on our website. Nylon picks produce a great mellow warm sound good for easy strumming or softer picking styles. Acetal is a more versatile material with a brighter sound and will work great with both strumming and picking styles. Polycarbonate material has a very bright tone and is stiffer for very fast picking styles. All these materials can be used for pretty much all styles of playing such as polycarbonate can be used for strumming but you have to vary your technique slightly and nylon can be used for picking styles but the softer material produces a little bit less precision when alternate picking scales and stuff. So keep that in mind that you can pretty much use any material for any style of picking to a certain level of satisfaction. They all have their advantages and disadvantages with different levels of (tone, flexibility, precision, and durability)

Custom made stamps tested
Next three pictures show what kind of results you can get with custom made stamps printed using StazOn inks. I paid $4.50 for each of the stamps we used and shipping was free. For our first attempt at this I belive it worked out very well. I would suggest that you look closely at these examples so when you have your own stamps made you will make better choices as far as the image. I think simple logos and designs work better. Stay away from straight horizontal and vertical lines so improperly placed images will not appear crooked. The images stay very well even when played. I belive they stick better than most of the store bought picks I have purchases.

Pick Punch and StazOn stamp printing
Here are some stamped picks I made. I have played with these and show no wear after a few days playing. The one pick on the right was not stampled completely due to the rounded edges on the 2.0mm thick pick. I used StazOn stamping ink designed for plastics and a regular stamp. I really like these picks. The only surface prep I did was a quick light sanding with super fine sandpaper just in case but not sure if it is even necessary with this ink.
I added a second color to one of the picks and it worked out nicely. I guess I could have spent a little more time on this looking close up at it..LOL

Ed Hardy Tattoos and Pick Punch Get Together
Here are some Ed Hardy picks we made. Christian Audigier makes some really cool stuff. These images are embedded inside the guitar pick. We made these from skin tattoos. There are so many examples of tattoos out there and the temporary tattoo market seems to always stay on the latest trends with graphics.

Check these out!
Here are some picks that I made. These are probably my favorite of all my picks including all my store purchased ones. I have pretty much every pick ever made now.
ZOOM IN AND CHECK THESE OUT! Note that the comic is INSIDE and not on the surface. My son drew the skull one on a piece of paper and the rest came from the paper comics. Check out our website HOW-TO section for more information. There is a link on the page or go to www.pickpunch.com

HERE IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT SOME AIRBRUSHING AND SPRAY PAINT: I know these look pretty crappy but the logistics are there. The paint I am using is ACRYL from pactra primer similar to the stuff they prime die-cast cars. I bought a $19.95 Testors kit at a hobby shop with compressed can air. It works pretty well and came with 6 colors of acrylic paint. The paints that it came with also worked well as far as durability. I also used to Krylon Fusion for plastics in a spray can and it sticks very well. I used some small templates both store bought and some quickly cut out ones from an exacto knife. I lightly sanded these just in case but not sure if it is necessary either. I have yet to test some of the other emulsions that were suggested by someone because this stuff worked good enough where I didn't think it was necessary. I will replace this picture later when I have more time and get some advice. This was my first time ever using an airbrush as you can tell in the image. I AM GOING TO HIT THE AIRBRUSHING FORUMS AND SEE IF THEY CAN HELP ME KICK THIS UP A FEW NOTHCES FOR US NOVICES. I admit they look pretty sad.
